Details emerge of Elton John’s ‘significant’ new Hollywood movie role

Elton John

New details of Elton John’s upcoming character in Kingsman: The Golden Circle have emerged.

Costar Taron Egerton said in an interview with Digital Spy that Elton has a ‘significant’ role in the film, and will be playing himself.

‘You’ve never seen him like this, he’s hilarious in it,’ he said. ‘It’s quite significant, as well.

‘It’s not a walk-on – he’s there. He’s in the movie.’

‘He’s superb’

The film will be a sequel to 2014’s Kingsman: The Secret Service. It will once again star Colin Firth (whose character died in the first movie.)

Taron furthermore added: ‘He plays himself, but it’s a significant role. And he’s so funny. He’s superb.’

An excited Elton recently shared a picture of the Kingsman cast to his Facebook page. The film also stars the likes of Julianne Moore, Halle Berry and Channing Tatum.

Elton has previously played himself in cult BBC TV show Absolutely Fabulous, in which he clashed with eccentric PR manager Edina Monsoon.

The Rocket Man singer has also, of course, enjoyed a stellar career in music, selling more than 300 million records.

The 70-year-old is married to David Furnish, with whom he has two sons, Elijah and Zachary.

We don’t know how he fits it all in!
