Manchester Pride has just announced a new act for their music festival this year.
English singer Emeli Sande will take to the stage alongside the likes of synthpop band Years & Years, who are going to be the headliner on Saturday 24 August.
As usual, LGBTI celebrations will take over Manchester during the last Bank Holiday Weekend of summer.
Pride will take place on 23-26 August, spreading across the whole long weekend with several events, the annual parade and, of course, the festival, attracting big names.
For the first time this year, Mayfield Depot will play host to multiple stage and performance areas in a mixture of indoor and outdoor spaces.
Emeli Sande joins Manchester Pride
The announcement comes ahead of Sande’s third album Real Life, due for worldwide release on 13 September.
Sande’s soothing voice will delight the crowd with hits Next To Me, Beneath Your Beautiful, Read All About It and her latest Extraordinary Being.
X-Factor winner, Louisa and German singer-songwriter, Kim Petras, will also play on the same day.
On Sunday 25 August, Manchester Pride will see the hotly anticipated performance of American singer – and honorary Mancunian – Ariana Grande.
Cheryl, Tulisa, Bananarama, Becky Hill and Pixie Lott are some of the acts taking to the stage before Grande’s performance.
Manchester is Emeli Sande’s first Pride
This will be the first time Emeli Sande will play an LGBTI festival.
‘I’m so pleased to be able to play my first ever Pride in the city of Manchester,’ she said.
‘Being able to support the LGBTI community at such a prestigious event means a lot to me and it’s an honour to be able to perform with so many other amazing artists on the bill,’ she then added.
‘I really hope Manchester is ready for what we have in store as I couldn’t be more excited.’
Tickets for Manchester Pride Live
Tickets for Sunday have sold out but Saturday and weekend tickets are still available.
The Rainbow Passes also provide unlimited weekend access to The Gay Village Party.
These tickets provide access to each of the performance areas, pop up performances and fairground.
