Vienna will host EuroPride next summer, with the parade taking place on 15 June.
2019 will be the second year the Austrian capital is hosting the event, after its first time in 2001.
This year, to celebrate the law on marriage equality, Pride will also offer the chance to up to 14 same-sex couples to tie the knot on 11 June.
The Austrian Constitutional Court passed the bill allowing same-sex weddings at the end of 2017. The ruling went into effect on 1 January 2019.
Marry in EuroPride
The location for this special wedding will be the stunning 5-star design hotel Le Méridien. The collective ceremony will be organized by the hotel in collaboration with Dream Wedding Unit of the City of Vienna.
For the entire wedding package, the couples will need to pay a contribution to expenses amounting to a total of €2,000.
The wedding will include a champagne reception, a joint 18-course wedding dinner buffet and a wedding cake from Gregor’s Konditorei. There will also be a wedding party with a DJ and midnight snacks.
The happy couples can celebrate with up to eight guests each. However, the wedding party taking place after the ceremony will welcome all family members and friends.
How to apply
The marriages are possible for all nationalities and not confined to Austrians.
Nonetheless, marriage is not possible for couples in which at least one person is a national of a country where same-sex marriage is not legal. In case a marriage can’t be celebrated legally, a civil partnership can be carried out.
Couples can apply until 11 March. Find out more on the official website for EuroPride.
