Costume Designer Michael Wilkinson has let slip that The Flash, played by Ezra Miller, is due to make his debut in next spring’s Batman v Superman film.

Speaking at CCXP in Los Angeles, reports Digital Spy, Wilkinson said, ‘I’m not really at the liberty to talk about The Flash right now, but it’s something that you’ll be seeing in the future in our films.

‘You do get a glimpse of him, of course, in Batman v Superman.’

Miller’s casting as The Flash is significant as it’s the first time a big studio (Warner Bros.) has cast an out actor in a major superhero role.

Miller, who has previously appeared in We Need To Talk About Kevin (2011) and The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012), came out in 2012 when he announced to Out magazine, ‘I’m queer.

‘I have a lot of really wonderful friends who are of very different sexes and genders. I am very much in love with no one in particular.’

Warner Bros is making ten movies in its DC Universe series, beginning with Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in 2016.

The Flash will star in his own film in 2018, but it’s believed he will also appear in Justice League Part One, due to hit screens in 2017. It now sees that we will get our first glimpse of him before then. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, directed by Jack Snyder, will be released 25 March 2016.
