Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane has posted the douchiest tweet about the US Supreme Court ruling in favor of marriage equality.
The cartoon voice actor and showrunner reacted, like many others, to the incredible news that millions of same-sex couples in every single US state now have a right to get married.
MacFarlane reacted to the news by telling people to go see his new film.
‘Celebrate the legalization of same-sex marriage by going to see Ted 2 as he fights for HIS rights!’ he tweeted.
People immediately responded negatively to him, with one saying: ‘Fire Seth MacFarlane out of a cannon and into the sun.’
He quickly deleted the tweet, but unfortunately for him others had already screencapped it.
Assumedly knowing that his ‘joke’ fell flat, MacFarlane then posted several well-meaning and positive messages celebrating love and equality.
He wrote: ‘The Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage in all 50 states today. IT’S ABOUT. FUCKING. TIME.
‘Congratulations America for finally catching up to the modern era with this landmark step forward for gay and lesbian rights.
‘Each new civil rights conflict is seen as ‘different than the last’. But bigotry is bigotry. So next time this happens, don’t take so long.’
