Fans are saying Elsa could be representing the LGBTI community: if only she had a girlfriend.
The Twitter hashtag #GiveElsaAGirlfriend shows a keen interest in finding a female parter for the ice princess.
Many have note Elsa’s storyline seems to fit the typical coming out story. A girl discovers she’s different from other people, tries to hide it (unsuccessfully) and ends up revealing it and developing a sense of pride around it.
Now Disney are making the Frozen sequel, they ask: where’s Elsa’s girlfriend?

Kid: so like Elsa & ___
my kid: yes
Kid: that's cool!

This wouldn’t be the first time Disney has made a gay princess.
In the Disney-owned, ABC series Once Upon A Time, Mulan is in love with Princess Aurora, Sleep Beauty. Unfortunately, they did not become a couple.
However, Ruby from Little Red Riding Hood and Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz did become a couple in the episode ‘Ruby Slippers’. The episode even featured a kiss between the two.
