Disney is hosting its own Pride event for the first time at Disneyland Paris, welcoming the LGBTI community to celebrate diversity at the place where dreams come true.
For the first time in 2019, Disney are making Magical Pride, which has been taking place at Disneyland Paris since 2014, an official signature event on their annual calendar.
This celebration of Pride, pixie dust, diversity and all things Disney will be taking place on 1 June 2019.
Magical Pride – Disney’s first official Pride event
Magical Pride originally began as an independent trip for LGBTI Disney lovers, created by Greatdays Holidays in conjunction with Manchester Pride. Greatdays Holidays are a preferred partner of Disneyland Paris, arranging group trips and events at the happiest place on Earth.
Inspired by Gay Days, which is an unofficial event held at Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, Magical Pride at Disneyland Paris first took place in 2014 and has grown year on year.
Last year, Disney experimented with launching Pride merchandise like rainbow Mickey Mouse ears.
And now, the official Pride event in June is expected to draw thousands from around the world.
What will happen at the first official Disney Pride event at Disneyland Paris?
The Walt Disney Studios Park will be made private for a special Pride party from 8pm to 2am on 1 June. This will include:
- Access to selected attractions
- Disney character meet ‘n’ greets
- Magical March of Diversity Parade
- DJs & special live music performances
- Karaoke theatre experiences
- Themed photo locations
