‘2,500 riders. 9 major parties. Zero attitude.’
That’s the mission statement for what has become one of the most popular gay and lesbian ski weeks in the US and beyond.
Hosted by promoter Tom Whitman, Elevation: Mammoth in California started 12 years ago and has since grown to an anticipated weekend full of killer slopes, hot bodies and hotter parties.
This year’s event includes corporate sponsors like auto giant GM and Alaskan Airlines, who is offering two round-trip tickets to some of the world’s most desired LGBTI destinations: Palm Springs, Puerto Vallarta, San Francisco, Seattle or Hawaii. While restrictions apply (including the number of departing airports), no purchase is necessary so sign up today! Winners will be notified via email by 1 April 2014.
Entertainment for Elevation: Mammoth 2014 includes world-renowned DJs like Manny Lehman and a special performance by gay country star Steve Grand.
‘Elevation offers a fun alternative to the gay bar scene or party circuit,’ writes party guru Tom Whitman on his website.
‘Yes, we have huge dance parties with nationally known DJs, but this weekend is about more than just those parties. We hold Elevation in one of the most beautiful settings in the country. When you come to Elevation, you experience some of the best spring skiing and snowboarding on the planet, at a world-class resort where the unbelievably long season lasts well into spring and even summer, with one of the highest average snowfalls in the country.’
