Dozens of celebrities took to Instagram over the weekend to publicly wish their mom a Happy Mother’s Day.
Some like MSNBC anchor Thomas Roberts were able to surprise their mother in person.
But many weren’t so fortunate.
Some couldn’t be with their moms due to distance and others because she has passed on.
But one thing is for sure, a mom is never forgotten.
Here are 25 beautiful Mother’s Day tributes from LGBTI celebrities:
With my mother back in February at the #ImageAwards The education she valued because she was a teacher and made sure I value, her support of my artistic aspirations and the moral foundation that guides me daily. These are but a few of the amazing gifts my mother gave me. Family is rarely perfect. Mine certainly isn't but I am profoundly blessed to have been raised by Ms. Gloria Jean Cox. Thank you so much for everything mom. #happymothersday #mothersday
Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there and in honor of those who are no longer with us. Thank you for all you do and have done. And to mine, words can't express enough how much I love you and how grateful I am to and for you. As was true here on law school graduation night, I continue to be blessed to dance this dance with you over the years. Thank you for everything, my dear, sweet Mom.
Mommy, The very thought of being your son makes me weep with pride. I almost feel like these words are worthless because words cannot match all that you've accomplished. All that you give. All that you are. If I could be half the parent, half the example of a human being that you are, I will leave this earth knowing that I did something right. This goes out to you, to my beautiful sisters @jazzsmollettwarwell & @jurneebell and to all the mothers out there, whether you carried, adopted, or stepped in as a mother figure… you are more important, more relevant and more honored than you will ever know. I love you Mommy. I love you Jazz and Jurnee. I love all y'all mamas of the world. #HappyMothersDay #QueenSmollett
She's my entire life. She gave it to me. She gave me breath when she was 19 though everyone around her thought she was too young. She lights her face whenever I enter a room. She sees in me what I can't even imagine. She risks everything so I can realize my potential. She accepts me even when she doesn't understand me. She celebrates me even when I fail. She loves me as only a mother can. She is life and THANK YOU seems to fall short. Happy Mother's Day, Mami.
