A consultant for the Belgium tourist office has said gay clubbing in the capital, Brussels, is worth over $5m a year.
According to Expatica.com, visit.brussels gay consultant Mr Boutry added that LGBTI tourism continues to rise in the city.
He also explained that Brussels’ monthly men-only clubbing event La Demence Club facilitated 40,000 hotel stays last year.
The city is currently gearing up for Pride on 16 May.
The publication quotes Boutry as saying: ‘Right now, there’s a lot of effort going into the organisation of lesbian events as well.’
‘Even though this is a slightly less financially interesting target group, visit.brussels is working just as ardently to accomodate them.’
