Gay couple owns Jeb Bush for President website, and they’re not going to give it up

A gay bear couple own JebBushForPresident.com, and they’re not giving it up without a fight.

Domain owners CJ Phillips and Charlie Rainwater, from Oregon, purchased the site name in 2008, ready for the former Florida governor to enter the race.

Instead of promoting the Republican politician, however, they’re planning on using it for LGBTI advocacy.

‘This page is intended to prompt understanding, insight, and healthy dialogue in the ever changing landscape of civil rights and social justice,’ they said.

Last month, Bush launched a leadership PAC and said he plans to ‘actively explore the possibility of running for president of the United States.’

While socially conservative, he is not the most homophobic of the potential Republican choices. While referring to gay people as ‘sodomists’ before, he has said people should respect ‘civil unions’.

A spokesperson for Bush has refused to say whether there has been any attempt to purchase the domain or if he had any comment on the couple’s plans for the site.

But according to Phillips, they have received multiple offers.

‘We’ve had a couple of offers. One person asked flat-out why a gay couple would have a candidate centric domain,’ he told Business Insider.

‘The latest was someone saying they wanted to buy the domain as a birthday present for a friend, awwww!’

This is certainly not the first time the LGBTI community has had fun with a homophobic Republican candidate. Google ‘Santorum’ for proof (but maybe don’t if you’re at work).
