A gay version of Mozart's opera Don Giovanni will premier at London's Heaven nightclub this April.
Directed by Dominic Gray and produced by Richard Crichton, the new production sees Don Giovanni as a playboy nightclub owner in a setting inspired by New York's infamous Studio 54.
In an additional twist, the roles of all singers will be reversed: sopranos will become tenors while baritones will become mezzos in order to demonstrate 'the harmonic genius of Mozart'.
The creative team behind the production first brought their idea to life in 2009 when they performed the final scene of the opera's first act on the main stage at Trafalgar Square during London's Pride festival. They will now premier the full opera at Heaven, the British capital's most famous gay club, followed by six additional shows in June for World Pride 2012.
