Gay icon Patti LuPone brilliantly shuts up noisy audience member during live concert

Patti LuPone fans should know better than to misbehave during one of the diva’s shows.

The Broadway legend once stopped in the middle of a performance of Gypsy to loudly scold an audience member for taking pictures. Her tirade was audio recorded and went viral.

But not everyone has learned their lesson.

The two-time Tony winner was in the middle of a show at 54 Below last week when a woman in the crowd would not stop talking.

The woman was shushed several times by others in the audience to no avail.

LuPone heard the shushing and said to the crowd, ‘What? Me? OK, I’ll go home.’

Broadway’s original Evita then asked the noisy audience member, ‘What is it, honey? Are you drunk? Are you menopausal?’

The woman told the star that it was her birthday.

LuPone handled the situation brilliantly.

She led the audience in singing Happy Birthday then said to the woman: ‘Now shut up.’
