Gay rapper Lil Nas X is one of the biggest stars on the planet.

The 20-year-old crossover artist created the biggest song between rap and country music – both notoriously homophobic.

This shot to stardom appears like it’s been lightning fast, so it’s no wonder Nas is taking a bit of time getting used to be on television.

Lil Nas X walks off BBC Breakfast

He made a funny slip-up on BBC Breakfast earlier this morning (5 July).

Nas finished the interview with hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt. Instead of waiting, he walked across the hosts’ camera shot.

Stayt then laughed, calling the rapper a ‘scene-stealer’. Munchetty then said ‘you just sit there!’

A video on Twitter went viral, with over 20,000 likes.

Nas simply responded: ‘lmfaoooo [laughing my fucking ass off] i didn’t know.’

The rapper also spoke about his favorite sport (‘Twitter’), and performing at Glastonbury.

Talking about coming out

He also spoke about his sexuality.

‘I am gay,’ he said. ‘It’s something I was considering just taking to the grave. I didn’t want to live my life, getting to what I got to, and not living.

‘And I want to open doors for some people.’

When addressing the fans, he believes most of them are ‘comfortable’.

‘[But] it’s like within the country and hip hop community, both of them combined, it’s not really accepted.’

He said he has also received backlash.

‘[They’ll] learn to be over it in the next couple of years,’ he said. ‘I’m just going to chill.’

Support from other celebrities

Many others in the music industry have posted supportive messages.

Miley Cyrus tweeted Monday, ‘SO proud of my baby brother @lilnasx 🌈❤️🌈❤️ In your corner forever my friend!’

British producer and singer MNEK said, ‘we also stan an openly gay black kid going diamond with his first single. the culture loves it. Truly.’

Actor and singer Daniel Newman tweeted, ‘Fuck! Coming OUT proud when you’re at the Top of the rap Game!!! Do you guys realize how monumental this is?!?! It’s a whole new world now when being gay is an asset! unheard of. So proud of @LilNasX & all #LGBTQA Heroes that changed the world for everyone’
