Gay sex google searches most common in Pakistan

Google searches relating to gay sex are most common in Pakistan out of all the countries in the world, new research from Mother Jones discovered yesterday.

‘Man fucking man’, ‘teen anal sex’ and ‘shemale sex’ are all currently searched more often in Pakistan than any other country in the world, according to data from Google Trends. The majority muslim country is also second in the world to Kenya for ‘gay sex pics’.

In 2004 most searches for ‘teen anal sex’ came from the US, but now most searches come from Pakistan.

Pakistan was found to be one of the least accepting places for homosexuality in the world in a recent study from the US’s Pew Research Center, which found that only 2% of the Pakistanis questioned agreed with the statement ‘homosexuals should be accepted by society’.

The highest number of hits for ‘shemale sex’ come from the largely rural and staunchly Islamic Peshawar region of the country.

Former member of Pakistan’s parliament, Farahnaz Ispahani, told Mother Jones that Pakistan has apparently contradictory approach to male-to-male sex and love.

On one hand many Pakistani Muslim men have physical relationships with men without considering themselves gay, because this is easier than socializing with women outside marriage.

‘The real love… that most of us find with a partner, they find with men,’ said Ispahani. ‘They mostly see their wives as the mother of their children.’

On the other hand open expression of a gay identity is not accepted. ‘They turn to pornography because they can’t live their lives openly,’ said Ispahani.

Earlier this week news that Pakistan is getting its own musical TV show akin to Glee, complete with a gay love story, was met by consternation by the nation’s Twitterati.

Last month a Pakistani gay man said he felt it was easier to life his life in the Islamic country than the US because hand-holding and hugging between men is accepted as a sign of friendship.
