The Events:

1. Pride in Brighton & Hove / Saturday 3rd August:

Quite simply the most spectacular, diverse, flamboyant and life affirming alfresco festival, Pride in Brighton & Hove is rightly seen as a highlight of the local, national and European Pride Calendar. The park event brings people together for an unforgettable celebration that the community plans for all year round.


Preston Park in the heart of the city hosts one of the biggest and best Pride events in the country. The park is always packed with smiling faces and a plethora of top entertainment.


Visitors travel from all over the UK and the world to party together at this remarkable event that also attracts international performers such as Fatboy Slim, The Freemasons and artists such as Boy George. Consequently the party on the park attracts local, national and international media exposure.

2. Manchester Pride / Friday 23rd-Monday 26th August:

Come and join Manchester Pride’s Big Weekend – one of the biggest parties in the UK. From Friday 23 to Monday 26 August, tens of thousands of people descend upon Manchester’s world-renowned Gay Village to celebrate the climax of the Manchester Pride’s festival. By day, our stages are packed full of world-class entertainment as well as our diverse collection of market & Lifestyle Expo stalls.


By night, join us in the newly launched Indoor Arena for some hot DJ sets or visit some of Manchester’s exciting gay bars and clubs as.s they take you through to the early hours of the morning with events that will make you wish the Big Weekend never came to an end. Marketing Manchester say that pride brings in £80million over the four day weekend to the city.

3. The Marriage (Same Sex Couples Bill) 3rd Reading in the House of Lords / Monday 15th July:

It is widely expected that the House of Lords will, with an overwhelming majority, pass this bill into law on Monday 15th July. This will make history in the UK, and will follow similar laws being passed across Europe, the USA and the rest of the world. It is a massive step forward and places the UK in a strong position to continue the fight in global diversity and equality.

The LGBT consumer market

The UK LGBT consumer market is worth £81bn to Britain’s economy.
