Gay X Factor Rylan Clark says he knows he won’t win

Gay X Factor ‘joke act’ Rylan Clark has admitted his chances of winning the UK singing contest are slim.

Despite making it through to the third week of live shows on Saturday (20 October), the flamboyant singer told TV biz that he knows he won’t win.

‘I’ve got no expectations to win the show [but] I’m serious about doing dance music,’ the camp Essex 23-year-old said.

‘But if going on stage and having fun makes you a joke act then fine, but I’m loving it and I’m so grateful for all the support.

‘At the end of the day, I’ve worked like every other contestant to where we are. People don’t realise how much work goes in.’

Clark has faced harsh criticism from judge Gary Barlow for his over the top disco performances and some angry viewers have even sent death threats on Twitter.

Earlier in the week, it was reported Clark and fellow lesbian finalist Lucy Spraggan were kicked out of their posh London hotel after a wild, booze-fuelled night out which ended with the former flashing his butt in public.

The pair are now staying at a cheap hotel near the X Factor studios as a punishment by the show’s bosses.

Gay female acts Jade Ellis and MK1’s Charlie Rundle were also put through to the next round of the live shows.

For those who haven’t already seen Rylan’s mash-up performance of Korean pop hit Gangnam Style, Groove is in the Heart and Pump up the Jam.
