Gender neutral model Petr Nitka to hit the runway at India’s Lakme Fashion Week

International model Petr Nitka will be walking at the Lakme Fashion Week held in Mumbai, India, in February.

The Czech Republic model who identifies as gender neutral has previously appeared at the South African Fashion Week and the Czechoslovakia Fashion Week as their first gender neutral model.

Modelling in both menswear and womenswear, Nitka is hoping to be an ambassador for androgynous/gender neutral individuals and to ‘lead the conversation on changing prejudices towards people who are considered different in the fashion and beauty industry,’ says his modelling agency, Indi Models.

The young model expressed his excitement to walk down the runway in India, hoping that his timely participation will help open up conversations on cultural attitudes to gender, women, sexual orientation and minorities in India.

Organisers hope that Petr’s participation at Lakme Fashion Week will assist in breaking down barriers of fashion and beauty model stereotypes, says Indi Models.
