Lesbian Coming Out LGBTI Africa

It’s estimated that 4,800 young LGBTI people in London are homeless or living in hostile environments.

The Purple Door Project is a housing service for homeless LGBTI individuals, run by the UK-based Albert Kennedy Trust. In this video, Ash, who has been helped by the Trust, shares her powerful story.

‘My dad comes to me and he’s got a plane ticket and my passport and he says we’re going to Africa,’ Ash explains.

‘I needed to pray and ask for forgiveness from God…’

Ash’s story is one of many that we will be sharing in the run up to Digital Pride, in association with the Albert Kennedy Trust.
