It’s official: a matter of days since the likes of Ireland and Greenland blazed the trail by legalizing same sex marriage, the Pacific Ocean paradise that is Guam has followed suit, becoming the first US territory to do so.
Gay couples in Guam – which has a total population of around 150,000 and uses the US dollar – will be allowed to marry from next week, on Tuesday 15 June.
Here, we celebrate the ruling with 10 pictures showcasing the best this exotic island has to offer: from perfect beaches and colourful wildlife to gorgeously romantic sunsets. Honeymooners, take note.
