Love, Simon director Greg Berlanti and husband Robbie Rogers welcomed their second child on Monday (13 May).

The couple took to social media yesterday to share the first photos of their newborn, Mia Barbara Rogers-Berlanti.

‘Welcome to the world,’ Berlanti said on Instagram. ‘Our hearts and our family have grown even larger.’

A loving tribute

Berlanti also explained they chose the middle name ‘Barbara’ for their newborn as it was his late mother’s name.

‘The “Barbara” is for my amazing Mom,’ he said. ‘Who, though she’s not here to share in this moment, will be watching over her granddaughter Mia forever— and laughing as Robbie and I figure out the parenting skills she mastered so perfectly.’

He then shared a series of photos, including a professional photo of Mia, a family photo with their son Caleb and a shirtless photo of Rogers with their newborn.

Rogers then took to his own Instagram account to share another photo of baby Mia.

He also revealed she was born a day after his birthday and Mia’s ‘already obsessed with Dadda G’ (Greg Berlanti).

‘Her brother… Caleb, tolerates her,’ he joked. ‘I couldn’t have dreamt up a more perfect way to celebrate my birthday.’
