Los Angeles-based Greg Hernandez has been a US correspondent for Gay Star News since its launch.

He began covering LGBTI news in 2003 as a contributing writer for The Advocate while also working full time as an entertainment reporter for The Daily News of Los Angeles.

At the Daily News, he founded the popular Out In Hollywood blog in 2006 which is believed to be the first LGBTI blog of its type at a major daily newspaper in the US. He was honored by the Los Angeles City Council in 2008 for the blog and for his role in increasing LGBTI content into the newspaper.

After leaving The Daily News in 2009, Hernandez launched his own widely-read entertainment blog Greg In Hollywood.

His first entertainment reporting job was as a staff writer for The Hollywood Reporter. Prior to that, he spent 11 years as a staff writer at the Los Angeles Times covering crime, courts, government, education and the restaurant industry. He was president of the Los Angeles chapter of the National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association (2011-14) and is a member of The Gay and Lesbian Entertainment Critics Association.
