Olympic freestyle skier Gus Kenworthy has a special message for people criticizing the new Gillette advertisement.
Gillette released a new video ad this week (13 January), spotlighting toxic masculinity and challenging men to ‘do more’.
Some people praised the ad for its message of inclusion in light of the Me Too movement. But others became enraged, opting instead to boycott the men’s shaving brand.
These people began using the hashtag #BoycottGillette and proclaiming they’ll never buy the product again.
Kenworthy noticed this trend and began calling people out on Twitter.
He tweeted: ‘If you don’t know the difference between “by” and “buy” then you shouldn’t be on Twitter. “Bye!”‘
The Winter Olympian then included screenshots of people saying they’ll never ‘by’ Gillette again.

Kenworthy then continued his tirade on people offended by the new ad.
‘To anyone who was offended by the @Gillette ad that simply implored men not to sexually assault or harass women,’ he tweeted. ‘Fuck you!’
He then later wrote: ‘R.I.P. “boys will be boys”‘
At the time of writing, the Gillette advertisement is the number one trending video on YouTube.
