Harlem hate church could be turned into LGBTI youth homeless center

A vehemently anti-gay church that claims ‘Jesus would stone homos’ could be turned into an LGBTI youth homeless center.

Rev James David Manning is notorious for using the sign outside ATLAH World Missionary Church in Harlem, New York City to incite against LGBTI people.

He also claimed that Starbucks used ‘semen from sodomites’ to flavor its lattes.

Last week, a state judge ordered the church be sold at public auction for failing to pay $1 million in debts.

‘When the ATLAH story broke, immediately I heard from neighbors: wouldn’t it be amazing if an LGBT group could acquire the property?’ said Stacy Parker Le Melle, a Harlem resident who has organized protests outside of ATLAH Church.

‘What if it were the Ali Forney Center? We all knew that this would be poetic justice.

‘We need to care for those kicked out of homes, often on religious-based grounds. We need to care for those most vulnerable to ATLAH’s hate speech.’

At the time of writing, the center had raised nearly half of its $200,000 goal.
