Pop singer Hayley Kiyoko surprised three older lesbians in an adorable new video.
The group of lesbians are known as the ‘Old Lesbians’ and are part of a video series by LGBTI publication Into.
Affectionately nicknamed ‘Lesbian Jesus’, Kiyoko is openly gay. She sings hit-songs Girls Like Girls, Curious and Sleepover.
The video starts with the three older lesbians – Belita, Phyllis and Sabel – reacting to Kiyoko’s acceptance speech at the VMAs.
Then one of the producers walks in and announces they have a surprise for the older lesbians.
Then in walks Hayley Kiyoko.
Hayley Kiyoko: ‘I’m just going to put it out there, you’re my type’
The older lesbians take a moment to process who the surprise is, then jump up excitedly for hugs with Lesbian Jesus.
They all then sit down and talk about Kiyoko’s career, as well as advice the older lesbians can give to the young pop singer.
Kiyoko explains she always knew she was gay, but she was ‘so afraid’ to be herself.
She says: ‘I never imagined… going after girls and maybe asking them on a date.’
In one hilarious moment, one of the lesbians says Kiyoko’s videos are ‘really appealing’, so she turns to the producers and says: ‘She’s flirting with me, by the way.
‘I’m just going to put it out there, you’re my type so I like older women,’ she says. ‘This will be a side bar convo.’
Then one of the other older lesbians asks: ‘How do I get you to flirt with me?’
