A video of middle school students serenading their teacher at his wedding rehearsal brunch in Massachusetts in the US has been viewed nearly one million times.

Hingham Public Schools uploaded the footage earlier this month showing teacher Christopher Landis wiping away tears.

His students performed the The Beatles’ All You Need Is Love ahead of his wedding to Joe Michienzie.

Landis told Inside Edition he had previously referred to his now-husband as a friend.

‘I felt like when the kids came to sing they were basically saying, “It’s OK. We know who Joe is.”’ he said.

‘Then I started crying and they started crying’ he said.

He said he hopes everyone can take a message of empowerment from the clip.

‘There might be a student in that choir that could be struggling at home [or] at school,’ he reportedly said. ‘To see the love that was in that room lets them know that everything’s going to be OK’.

‘He’s the best teacher, and he’s got this great energy, and he makes every school function fun,” Margit Foley, one of the organizers, told The New York Times.

Foley and other parents began organizing students in fall last year, hoping to find 15 to participate. In the end, they had more than 50.
