Here are the nominees for the GLAAD Media Awards 2016

Who can forget when Anderson Cooper kissed Madonna at the GLAAD awards?

The nominees for the GLAAD Media Awards 2016 have been revealed today (27 January).

For film both Carol and The Danish Girl have been nominated, along with Independent Spirit Award nominee Tangerine.

Shows like Empire, Sens8, Transparent, Orange Is The New Black, and Grace and Frankie made the cut, as well as ABC’s 20/20 for the Diane Sawyer interview with Caitlyn Jenner.

‘For nearly three decades, the GLAAD Media Awards have propelled inclusion in media and driven LGBT acceptance forward,’ said GLAAD CEO & President Sarah Kate Ellis.

‘This year’s nominees have raised the bar for creating thoughtful and diverse LGBT images and storylines, deepening audiences’ understanding of LGBT people and accelerating acceptance across the world.’

The GLAAD Media Awards is also returning to TV after nearly a decade with a one-hour special airing on Logo in April 2016.
