A woman was mugged during a homophobic attack in South London.
Police said the 37-year-old woman was grabbed by the neck and robbed outside a Nando’s restaurant in Denmark Hill on 30 December between 10.15pm and 11.15pm.
According to Scotland Yard, she was approached by a group outside the chicken restaurant.
A woman belonging to the group made homophobic remarks towards the victim, before grabbing her around the neck and forcing her to hand over her belongings.
The woman then threatened the victim, before fleeing the scene.
On 6 January a 36-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of robbery.
She has been released on bail until late February pending further enquiries.
Detectives from Lambeth Community Safety Unit are appealing for anyone who was in or around the area and may have seen the incident, or the suspects fleeing the scene, to contact police.
