A huntsman is being accused of striking an animal rights activist over the head with his riding crop before spitting at another and calling him a ‘gay cunt’.
Atherstone Hunt riders clashed with anti-hunting activists in Shackestone, Leicestershire, in the English Midlands.
West Midlands Hunt Saboteurs say the apparent attack on the woman was ‘completely unprovoked’.
Leicestershire Police has confirmed a man was arrested on suspicion of Actual Bodily Harm (ABH) and bailed in connection with the incident.
The group claims the alleged victim required hospital treatment for the nasty cut on her head.
The footage begins with two female activists walking alongside riders on a footbridge while filming on their body cams.
There is an initial heated exchange, and then one of the riders makes an apparent grab for a West Midlands Hunt Saboteurs member.
She shouts ‘get the fuck off me’. He then replies: ‘It’s dangerous here. Come on, be fair.’
Then seconds later, a thump is heard followed by a screen. The camera cuts to an injured woman holding her head.
‘What? I’ve done nothing,’ the rider says. ‘Look it’s fucking dangerous here, you idiot.’
‘You f**king gay c**t’
A second lot of footage shows the man sat in the cab of a lorry being recorded by two activists.
When the huntsman spits at him and tells him to ‘fuck off’, the saboteurs ask: ‘Why did you just spin on me?’
The man then leans out, shouting: ‘Get that camera off me. Come on, you fucking idiot, get it off. You fucking gay cunt.’
Leicester Police spokesperson told Metro: ‘A man has been arrested on suspicion of ABH following a report of an assault which is alleged to have happened in Derby Road, Shackerstone, on Saturday February 11.
‘He has been bailed pending further enquiries.’
