Hulu cancels Difficult People

Hulu has canceled Difficult People after three seasons.
The modern take on Will & Grace saw Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner play alternative versions of themselves as struggling comedians in New York City.
It was created and executive produced by Klausner and executive produced by Amy Poehler.
The streaming platform announced it would not renew Difficult People for a fourth season. All 28 produced episodes will remain streaming on the digital platform.
Difficult People had a diverse cast of characters
Difficult People was notable for its diverse cast, including having the trans ‘truther’ character played by trans actress Shakina Nayfack.
Eichner and Nayfack have both paid tribute to the show.
‘Thanks to many people but above all my friend, Julie Klausner. A singular comedic voice and the funniest person I know. I cannot WAIT to see what Julie creates next. Thanks to all you Difficult People out there who watched.’

@DifficultOnHulu this was the best show I’ve seen in years, the only show that would make me laugh from the gut. I’m heartbroken that it’s over, but truly grateful I was introduced to characters I’ll love forever. @julieklausner @billyeichner @Shakeenz @iamandreamartin

I can’t tell you what an awesome show you all made. I can’t help but admire how unique this show was and how complex all the characters were. Thank you @julieklausner @billyeichner ps. I hope @Shakeenz gets her own show

I’ve said it before, but I am beyond grateful to @Shakeenz for giving us a trans character who’s such a real reflection of my world we’ve literally made the same problematic joke. #DifficultPeople pic.twitter.com/RtDJab67aM
