Indiana pizzeria: ‘We will never deliver pizza to a gay wedding’

The family behind an Indiana pizzeria has said the new law allows them to refuse service to gay couples.

Crystal O’Connor, whose family owns Memories Pizza in Walkerton, Indiana, said their Christian beliefs mean they will not cater a same-sex couple’s wedding.

‘If a gay couple came in and wanted us to provide them pizzas for a wedding, we would have to say no,’ O’Connor told WBND.

‘That’s a lifestyle that you choose,’ Kevin O’Connor, her father, added.

‘I choose to be heterosexual. They choose to be homosexual. Why should I be beat over the head because they choose that lifestyle?’

This is one of the first businesses to publicy come out against LGBTI customers.

While Memories Pizza said they wouldn’t cater a gay wedding, they did want to point out they would not deliberately turn away same-sex or a non-Christian couple if they chose to come and eat at the restaurant.

Gorvenor Mike Pence has faced the fire after signing the Religious Freedom Restoration Act into law since last week. He has faced harsh and widespread criticism, including from Apple and Walmart.
