Thousands of LGBTI supporters marched through the capital of India, Delhi, on Sunday (25 November).

Parade organizers said it was the largest march since 2007. Attendees shouted ‘we got our freedom’ as they marched through the streets.

It was the first since the country’s Supreme Court struck down Section 377 of the Penal Code. The colonial-era law criminalized homosexual acts with up to ten years in prison.

The 11th edition of the Delhi Queer Pride Parade was a sea of rainbow flags, glitter, and signs saying ‘goodbye 377’.

‘It’s the first time we are not marching as criminals,’ Deepti, one of the organizers told AFP. ‘People are marching with freedom and zero burden,’ she said.

Local media reported there was ‘more pride, fewer masks’. In India, attendees of LGBTI pride parades often hide their identities by covering their faces.

Let’s have a look at some of the best photos.
