Aleppo in Syria is a warzone with thousands of people killed, thousands more displaced and an estimated 250,000 people trapped in some areas of the city.
But in new photos released by Islamic State, religious police have found time to carry out an execution of a man they claim to be gay.
It shows the ‘hisbah’, or religious police, carrying out an execution of a man accused of gay sex.
The charges are read out in front of the baying crowd, some that appear to be as young as six years old.
Unlike other murders carried out in the name of the homophobic extremist group, the man was not blindfolded.
He was carried to the top of a building, thrown off, and the mob is then instructed to stone the man to his death.
Hundreds of LGBTI people have been killed by Islamic extremists. Gay people, according to ISIS, are the ‘worst of creatures’.
