Islamic State militants have threatened to take over Rome and throw gay people from the ‘Leaning Tower of Pizza.’
The militant group made the threat Saturday (21 February) on Twitter, seemingly unaware of the glaring spelling mistake – or the fact that the tower is 200 miles outside of the Italian capital.
‘#We_Are_Coming_O_Rome, we will conquer & establish the justice of #shariah. We will use your leaning tower of pizza to throw off homosexual,’ the tweet reads.
‘#We_Are_Coming_O_Rome with slaughter,’ said a second.
But Italians responded in the best possible way – giving the jihadists traffic warnings and food recommendations using the above hashtag.
‘Tomorrow is strike of public transport. Good luck,’ wrote Alessandro Cocco.
Giuseppe Di Chiara said: ‘hey just a tip: don’t come in train, it’s every time late!’
Others recommended their favorite gelato flavors.
In the wake of the threat, Italian security chiefs have approved plans to put 4,800 soldiers on the country’s streets and ‘sensitive sites’ to prevent terrorist attacks.
Reports claim 500 will be deployed in Rome – where soldiers are already guarding diplomatic residences, synagogues and Jewish schools.
The troops are also expected to be deployed at tourist venues such as archeological sites and monuments.
The commander of Vatican’s 110-man Swiss Guard said they were ready to defend Pope Francis if ISIS attack.
ISIS have executed four men in recent weeks for alleged homosexuality.
