Images have surfaced of a blindfolded man falling to his death for being gay.
They show a blindfolded man, with his hands and legs bound, being thrown off the top of a tall building and then stoned by a crowd below.
Reportedly, this took place in the Syrian town of Raqqa and was carried out by Islamic State of Iraq and Syria militants.
The Twitter account @Raqqa_SI tweeted about the atrocity, saying: ‘#ISIS stoned a man to death in Tal Abiad in #Raqqa for being homosexual after throwing him from the roof of the Islamic Court building,’ which alerted international media to the story.
The man was referred to as a ‘Child of Lot’, which a reference to the people of Sodom and Gomorrah carried out homosexual acts and were punished by God.
This is not the first time the world has seen such sickening photos. Images of brutal homophobic attacks have been released by ISIS and circulated on social media for the world to see, most recently earlier this month.
Militants also leaked images of a gay man being killed in the same way in January and branded gay people ‘the worst of creatures.’
