Jailed gay porn star’s appeal rejected, says he did not murder his parents

Brandon Woodruff says he did not murder his parents

A jailed gay porn star who says he did not murder his parents will stay behind bars.

The 5th US Court of Appeals has blocked Brandon Dale Woodruff’s latest appeal of his conviction.

The court found, when he was 19, Woodruff murdered his parents Norma and Dennis in their Royse City, east Texas home in 2005.

He has spent 13 years in prison for a crime he says he did not commit.

Woodruff’s supporters claim the prosecution, judge and jury were homophobic and did not give him a fair trial.

Prosecutors said Woodruff, who had not yet come out when arrested, was capable of lying about murdering his parents because he was not openly gay.

This was in despite of being a go-go boy in gay clubs and appearing in gay porn films.

The prosecution said he was ‘failing’ at Abilene Christian University and had high credit card debt.

Woodruff is serving a sentence of 7,000 years with no chance of parole.

The federal appeals court ruled on 20 September that Woodruff would not be eligible to appeal the ruling. He was previously denied a writ by the US Northern District Court of Texas.

A Hunt County judge has acknowledged that prosecutors violated Woodruff’s constitutional rights by secretly tape recording the defendant’s conversations with his lawyers.

However, the judge declined to dismiss the capital murder indictment.

Woodruff’s only option is mounting an appeal to the US Supreme Court at a cost of about $5,000.

‘It was a big blow and setback, but I refuse to be conquered,’ Woodruff told OutSmart Magazine.

‘I know in my heart I didn’t do it, and I want everyone else to know it.’

Did this former gay porn star really murder his parents?

Woodruff has said his only hope is a new investigation to who actually killed his parents.

He said if he gets to be released, he would want to work with horses and other animals. The former porn star also wants to resume his college education and help prisoners with wrongful convictions.

‘I do not want to be a party boy anymore,’ Woodruff said.

‘I want to make something out of life. This is not my home. This is not my place. [Prison] is just a temporary place until the truth comes out.

‘It’s not a matter of if I come home, but when I come home.”
