Jamaica school principal has gay sex photos posted, gets death threats

The acting principal of a high school in Jamaica is in hiding after photos appearing to show him having gay sex were posted online.

Reports from Jamaica claim the pictures appeared online after his cell phone went missing. The photos show him embracing and having sex with another man.

The photos apparently circulated widely among students at the school before finding their way to the media.

But while the acting principal agrees the photos are of him, he claims they have been digitally edited to portray gay sex.

The incident has sparked widespread debate in mainstream and social media on the island, which still criminalizes and persecutes homosexuality.

One site published the photo with an explicit death threat and a gay slur ‘Batty man fi ded’ scrawled on it.

The teacher is married to a woman and has three children, and GSN has been shown online posts where people threaten the lives of his children.

A family member told us: ‘They have fans promoting hate and treating his children saying they too should be killed as they are contaminated. This man is being crucified and no authority is seemingly trying to help.’

Rumors have spread he has shot himself but the latest reports and our own sources indicate this is not the case.

Local police have spoken to his relatives who report he is alive but won’t reveal where he is, according to the Jamaica Observer.

Meanwhile, officials from the Education Ministry and the board of directors of his school are holding an emergency meeting, scheduled to be in the next few hours, to discuss the case.

It is not known if he will attend the meeting himself.

The chair of the school board has told the Jamaica Observer he accepts the images may have been doctored.

Notably, there have been no traceable reports on the fate of the other man in the sex pictures. There have been some claims he was a student in the same school but these appear be based on rumor.

The man in the image appears to be too old to be a high school student and the teacher’s relative told GSN he is ‘not a student or child’.

GSN is currently not naming the acting principal or the school in order to protect him.
