After more than four years of marriage and nearly nine years together, Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres appear to be as happy as ever.
But Jennifer Aniston, a personal friend of both, got de Rossi to admit this week that there are a few things about her talk show host wife that do kinda bother her.
Aniston, guest co-hosting The Ellen DeGeneres Show, said to de Rossi: ‘You guys are so good to each other. But let’s face it, what bugs you about Ellen.’
DeGeneres, answering for her wife, said: ‘There’s nothing!’
But de Rossi, who was on the show to promote the return of Arrested Development, did come up with something quite quickly.
‘Every single night, just as I serve her dinner, just as I put it down in front of her, she gets up and feeds the cats – every single night,’ she complained.
De Rossi explained that she wasn’t just placing a Lean Cuisine or some Chinese take-out in front of her wife, it is a meal she has lovingly prepared.
‘I love cooking, I love preparing food and I love making it the perfect temperature. I garnish. I try to make it a little romantic.’
DeGeneres defended herself by saying of the couples three cats: ‘Somehow, I come in, they wake up and they want to be fed. I have to feed them. … It’s not every night but I do know that that bugs her and I rush. I hurry up and rush and feed them but sometimes, they want choices. So I put down two different kinds.’
