Judge backs parents of trans kid going to school in girl’s uniform

A senior UK judge praised a couple who sent their four-year-old trans daughter to school in girl’s uniform.

This followed social workers who threatened to take the couple’s child, referred to as ‘H,’ into social care.

But London judge Mr Justice Williams praised the parents as being devoted to H’s welfare, reported the Daily Mail.

What happened?

The couple sent their trans daughter to school in girl’s uniform. Unfortunately, the family’s local council sought the ‘immediate removal’ of H and their other children from the couple’s home as a result.

Social workers critisized the couple. They said the couple ‘actively encouraged’ the child and ‘acted in a precipitate manner in relation to perceived gender dysphoria.’

The council took the case to court. But now High Court judge, Mr Justice Williams, has exonerated the couple, describing them as ‘attuned and careful’ parents, devoted to H’s welfare.

‘Clearly identified herself as a girl’

Moreover, during the hearing, a gender specialist informed the Royal Courts of Justice, Westminster, judge that H’s ‘gender related presentation was consistent with a diagnosis of gender dysphoria.’

She ‘clearly identified herself as a girl’ and ‘appeared to be a content, alert and socially engaged little girl’

And the judge said H had suffered no harm as a result of her ‘complete transition into a female occurring at a very young age’.

He added: ‘The evidence demonstrates to the contrary, this was likely to minimise any harm or risk of harm.’

‘A girl and would grow up to be a woman’

‘H’ and other children in the couple’s care were ‘prospering’ and it was ‘overwhelmingly obvious’ that they were good parents.

Touchingly, when H’s six-year-old brother, ‘C,’ was asked about his sister, he showed a ‘nuanced understanding’ of his sister’s identity.

Moreover, he said she is a ‘girl and would grow up to be a woman.’

The case of gender neutral uniform

The case of H comes after Liberal Democrat MP Layla Moran called for gender neutral school uniform across the UK earlier this year.

She said: ‘We’re not trying to make everyone wear trousers for example, it’s about giving people more choice.

‘Would the boys want to wear the skirts? Maybe they would, and what’s wrong with that?

‘I see nothing wrong with that whatsoever.’
