Karamo Brown, the life and culture expert on Netflix’s Queer Eye, is celebrating his 38th birthday today.
To mark the occasion, he posted a throwback photo on his Instagram account.
The Instagram post shows two photos of Brown — one from today at 38, and the other from 30 years ago when he was an 8-year-old boy.
His warm, inviting smile hasn’t changed at all, and only makes us love him more.
In the caption, he wrote: ‘I’ve come a long way and I still got so much further to go!’
A few months ago in August, Brown opened up about his suicide attempt 12 years ago.
‘Today in 2006 I was sitting on my couch alone and attempted to commit suicide,’ he said in a Twitter video. ‘In my mind life was over for me. But I got mental health support and worked each day to believe again. And here I am happy & healthy.
‘I made it and If you’re going through something you can make it too.’
Things have gotten better for Brown.
More birthday wishes
All of Brown’s Queer Eye co-stars also wished him happy birthday.
The show’s design expert, Bobby Berk, wrote that Brown gets him through the days ‘with laughter, love and lots of advice’.
Tan France, meanwhile, the fashion specialist on the show, called Brown a ‘handsome bugger’. In turn, Brown called him ‘damn fine’.
‘HBD to the man who’s mastered falling asleep while standing and managing to wake up as cameras start rolling,’ food expert Porowski wrote in his post.
Finally, hair and hygiene expert Jonathan Van Ness posted on Instagram, describing Brown as ‘gorgeously kind, fun, and thoughtful’.
