Comedian Kate McKinnon pulled off her best British accent to impersonate UK Prime Minister Theresa May on the last episode of SNL.
The openly gay comedian sported a short bob and showed off her worst dance moves in the latest sketch about Brexit.
McKinnon’s May hosted Happy Christmas, Britain in the front room of 10 Downing Street, welcoming guests to her sofas.
The stressed politician opens by saying: ‘What a dreadful week it’s been. My Brexit deal is falling apart, I almost got voted out and no one in the world likes me at all.’
Theresa May and her guests
She then introduces her first guest, actor Matt Damon as former PM David Cameron. In May’s words, he’s ‘the man who called for the Brexit vote, then when it passed, he bounced’.
A well-rested Cameron, on his way back from a Maldive holiday, suggests May should try to ‘make a deal’.
‘We’re working on it, thank you,’ replies May, visibly on the verge of a breakdown.
Actress Aidy Bryant playing a very festive Elton John then brings the gifts people sent to Downing Street to Theresa May. Sadly, all of the carefully wrapped packets contain feces.
After putting the last present away, the Prime Minister welcomes Lord Voldemort as the only person more reviled in Britain than her.
But He Who Must Not Be Named isn’t too eager to be associated with the prime minister, as it’s not good for his PR.
‘I just can’t have that to be the pull quote from this interview, no offense,’ Voldemort replies after May says ‘we get each other’.
McKinnon has been Theresa May before
This is not the first time Kate McKinnon has worn Theresa May’s suits. After impersonating Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton during the election campaign in 2016, McKinnon mocked May in December 2017.
