Kelly Clarkson’s classy response to a homophobic fan is everything

Kelly Clarkson

Kelly Clarkson had no time for a homophobic troll on Twitter — but she did have time for class.

It all started when couple Kiana and Amanda Clark tweeted Clarkson a photo of their wedding. The pair became engaged at a Kelly Clarkson concert in 2016 when she invited them on stage.

Kiana Clark tweeted the good news, writing to Clarkson in all-caps: ‘WE DID IT!’

Clarkson then quote-retweeted them and gave them a heartfelt congratulations.

Then the troll appeared…

Clarkson’s sweet response did not sit well with everyone, however.

Twitter user @Wildvine74104 wrote to Clarkson: ‘Sorry Kelly…. love your music but I don’t dig the dikes…still a sin any way you cut it.’

Yesterday afternoon (20 August), the singer issued a response to the user and she was less than impressed.

‘I almost didn’t respond 2 this because hate doesn’t deserve a spotlight but u know what, truth does,’ she wrote.

‘Truth is that God is Love, & Love shared between two people should be praised not condemned in my personal opinion. I love u 2 although we see the world/love differently.’

The Grammy-winning artist has long been a vocal supporter of the LGBTI community, helping with numerous proposals before this one.
