This is Kylie Jenner. You might not have heard of her, but she is a younger member of the Kardashians’ clan.
This is Kylie Minogue. If you’re reading Gay Star News, so (just guessing here) she probably needs no introduction.
Jenner has attempted to trademark ‘Kylie’ in the US. This would mean she would own the trademark to any promotional and entertainment materials that just say ‘Kylie’.
But in a statement of opposition, Minogue’s legal team throws some serious shade at the ‘home-schooled graduate’, ‘secondary reality TV personality’ and ‘supporting character’ of the Kardashians show. They also note how Jenner has been repeatedly accused of cultural appropriation. This is in reference to when she was accused of wearing blackface and wearing cornrows in social media and fashion magazine pictures.
Minogue’s team has noted she owns Kylie.com and has over 80 million record sales.
And let’s face it, she released her first album ‘Kylie’ in 1988. That was nine years before Jenner was even born.
Minogue referenced the case on Twitter.
