Off the back of a massive 2017 for the Grammy and Golden Globe winning pop star, Lady Gaga has just announced she has signed a contract for a two-year Las Vegas residency.
Gaga first announced the news on Twitter where she posted photos of her signing the contract at MGM’s Park Theatre.
‘The rumors are true! I will have my own residency at MGM’s Park Theater,’ Gaga tweeted.
‘Get ready for a brand new show!! It’s been my lifelong dream to be a Las Vegas girl, I’m so overjoyed! LOVE YOU LITTLE MONSTERS WE DID IT, MEET ME IN Las Vegas!!’
Gaga will follow in the footsteps of other iconic performers such as, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, and Britney Spears who all had sell-out residencies in Las Vegas.
Her two-year run will begin in December 2018 where Gaga is expected to perform 74 shows in that time.
The deal is worth about $100 million, with Gaga expected to clear $75 million for herself according to a report in Variety. That means she’ll be making about $1 million per show.

‘It’s the land of Elvis, Tony Bennett and Frank Sinatra, the Rat Pack, Elton John, Judy Garland and Liza Minnelli,’ Gaga said in a statement.
‘It has been a life-long dream of mine to play Las Vegas. I am humbled to be a part of a historical line-up of performers, and to have the honor of creating a new show unlike anything Vegas has ever seen before.
‘I’ll tell you exactly what I told my MGM and Park Theater partners: You can count on this performer always for one thing…I’ll leave my heart on the stage every single night. Thank you to my fans for always believing in me. Meet me in Las Vegas, baby, we did it!’
Gaga even managed to launch her own hashtag in support of her residency, #LasVegasGoesGaga.
MGM Resorts International also released a statement about Gaga’s Las Vegas residency.
‘We have all been wowed by Lady Gaga’s raw talent, but the passion, commitment and creativity she is prepared to bring to this engagement will truly be transformational… Las Vegas, get ready to become the Entertainment Capital of the Universe,’ said MGM Resorts International president, William Hornbuckle.
