Hit sit com Two and a Half Man is replacing the macho womanizing character of Charlie Hunter, played by Charlie Sheen, with his lesbian daughter.
The cynical jingle writer’s daughter will be played by Amber Tamblyn, who has appeared in films The Ring and 127 Hours and TV shows House M.D. and General Hospital.
Hunter was killed-off in season nine after Sheen’s dismissal due to addiction problems.
Series creator Chuck Lorre told reporters that Tamblyn’s character will give ‘a voice…from a different perspective’. He added: ‘the show has had enough testosterone to last a lifetime’.
The lesbian character will appear in at least five episodes in the eleventh season that, starting next month in the US.
Tamblyn is married to Arrested Development actor David Cross and is the daughter of Russ Tamblyn who played Riff in the 1961 film of West Side Story.
