A lesbian waitress in Indiana, US had the best comeback for two anti-LGBTI customers who refused to tip her because of her sexuality.
Michele Crider works at the Dash-In restaurant in Fort Wayne, Indiana. After her experience, she took to Facebook on 19 February to tell the whole story.
‘It’s just one of those tables that didn’t want to be bothered, is what I thought,’ Crider says in the video.
‘So I served them and the guy said he’d take the check, I gave it to them and they were in and out.’
When Crider came back to pick the check, she found out why the customers had been unruly.
The receipt with the anti-LGBTI slur
‘I waited a little while to go pick up the check and to my surprise, he wrote “I don’t tip fags,”‘ she says, showing the receipts.
‘It’s not okay. The fact that this has just become an acceptable thing in our country. It doesn’t matter if you’re gay, whether you’re black or you have a learning disability… it’s okay now to spread that kind of hate,’ she adds.
‘I just can’t wrap my head around it.’
She then addressed the customer directly.
‘Why did you feel the need, sir, to write that on there? If you don’t like gay people… whatever… but to say something like that?’
‘I feel very sorry for you’
Crider furthermore adds: ‘I’m a mother. I work my butt off, sir, to pay my bills, to put my son into a good school and pay that tuition.’
‘I don’t know what happened to you in your life to make you such a miserable person sir, but I feel very sorry for you.’
And then she adds one last piece of advice to the homophobic customer.
‘If you wanna spread that kind of hate, try to understand what it is that you’re saying. I’m not a fag. I’m a dike.’

You know… I just hope this message gets back to this guy. You sir are a sad excuse for a human.
