On Christmas Day, British Formula One race Lewis Hamilton posted an insensitive video of himself on Instagram. Now he’s posted an apology for it.
In the video, he ridicules his young nephew for wearing a princess dress.
‘I’m so sad right now. Look at my nephew,’ he says in the video. ‘Why are you wearing a princess dress? Why did you ask for a princess dress for Christmas? Boys don’t wear princess dresses!’
The video disappeared from his Instagram story, but not before people managed to share it.
Oh dear Lewis. You’ve just opened a can of worms… pic.twitter.com/fpsiNeOZrd

‘My deepest apologies for my behaviour,’ he tweeted. ‘I realise it is really not acceptable for anyone, no matter where you are from, to marginalise or stereotype anyone.’
Some people applauded his apology.

Others, however, blamed more liberal points of view and didn’t think he had to apologize.
do not allow yourself to be patrolled by the internet gender police. if you accept this, you will be held hostage forever. You're right, boys should not dress like princesses.
