A lot of us know how hard it is to say those three words, ‘I am gay’, for the first time.
One brave man did it, managing to come to terms with his sexuality, live on the radio.
Giving the name Dominic, he spoke to presenter Cristo Foufas on LBC radio.
‘Sometimes I have trouble thinking I do deserve love. I feel guilty within myself,’ he told the presenter.
‘It seems like you’re totally alone in a world where everyone else is different and you are the freak, you’re the weirdo, and you’re disgusting in a way.’
The touching exchange saw Foufas reassure Dominic he had nothing to be ashamed of, and that he should feel comfortable in himself.
And the presenter asked Dominic if he was ready to say those three words.
After much pause, he finally did.
