Los Angeles man convicted for murdering his gay son

Shehada Issa murdered his wife and gay son

A Los Angeles man was convicted for murdering his wife and his gay son last week.

Shehada Issa, 70, had claimed he killed his 29-year-old son Amir – also known as Rocky – in self-defense.

He said Amir killed Issa’s wife, Rabidah, so he killed his son. Issa thought blaming it on his gay son, he later confessed, would be the ‘perfect crime’.

Issa claimed to police he had come home from a trip, he found his wife stabbed to death in the bathroom.

Investigating noises from outside, Issa said he grabbed his gun and went outside.

That is where he claimed his son was allegedly threatening him with a knife. Issa then shot his son in the face and stomach.

Defense attorneys claimed Amir had a history of drug abuse and mental illness.

However prosecutors proved Issa fabricated that story and said he killed his son because of his sexuality.

‘He detested him. He was ashamed of him,’ Amir’s brother Victor testified.

‘He called him things like “whore of Babylon”.

Murderer’s son: ‘It was constant for years. It was, “He deserves to die.”.’

In a Facebook post shortly before his death, Amir pleaded to be ‘adopted by normal healthy people that aren’t ruining their kids’ lives’.

‘If there is a devil or evil spirit, I truly believe it manifests itself in my family,’ he added.

Issa is due in court on 26 October where he faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.
