Man allegedly kidnapped, stripped and called gay slur in hook up gone wrong

Man charged with kidnapped and stripping man

A Florida man was allegedly kidnapped, beaten, stripped, and called a gay slur after a hook up gone wrong, according to police.

Matthew Evans, 20, from Vero Beach was charged with kidnapping and attempted robbery on 21 November. Two men are still wanted by police.

The alleged victim told Sebastian police he arranged a hook up with Evans and another man after speaking on Instagram. They were set to meet at the Sebastian River Landing clubhouse, according to to Evans’ arrest warrant.

The accuser told police he was going to pay Evans $50 for the hook up.

When they met at 11pm on 18 November, Evans allegedly got the man into a choke hold and called him an gay slur. The other man accelerated away with them all in the car, according to police.

When they arrived at San Sebastian Park, a quarter-mile east, another man waited with a gun. The group demanded the money before punching him in the face until he fell unconscious. The alleged victim woke up with a broken nose and a depression in his cheekbone.

He also woke to find his phone, money and sweatpants were gone according to police. The pants were later found.

Indian River County Sheriff’s Office stated the man with the gun and the driver have arrest warrants issued for them. Evans remains in Indian River County Jail without bail.
